Men's business style accessories
Business style accessories
The range of modern business clothing is replenished by many products that have a common name "accessories". It is them that we will consider in this article. Each accessory, both male and female, is designed not only to complement the style, but also to demonstrate status.
In addition, business accessories have a practical function. Wearing certain accessories, especially expensive and exclusive ones, presupposes taste and a certain amount of courage. After all such things need to be emphasized properly.
All accessories which include a bag, leather briefcase, gloves, folding umbrella, wristwatch, belts, tie and wallet, should match each other by color and style, as well as by value. The general principle is that there are few additional details in a man's business image, but their quality should be at a high level. Even if you can not afford a prestigious brand name suit, the accessories should always be of high quality and expensive enough. And even if you have a very expensive suit, your image can be very easily spoiled by a frayed edge of the wallet or a crack on the leather briefcase.
Wallet
It should be elegant, preferably dark brown. Inside there should be a separate place for the business cards. A traditional business wallet has a flat form and lacks a compartment for coins (because a serious business person is above such trifles). The only acceptable material for a business wallet is genuine leather.
When hiding a wallet, you should remember an important rule - a back pocket is not necessary. This item should be kept in a briefcase or inside pocket. Besides traditional products of black and brown colors, wallets, having cognac, dark green, chocolate, gray, as well as the claret-colour or cafe au lait are very popular.
But for a businessman a calm-colored wallet without the extra accessories is more suitable. The most popular are small size wallets with special compartments for credit cards, containing 1-2 large compartments for banknotes.
As for the briefcase, designed to carry business papers, the same principles are relevant as for high quality shoes. The best briefcases are made of natural materials.
The most preferred colors for modern business briefcases are brown with red and dark shades and "cordovan leather," but by no means black. A black briefcase is suitable only for an insurance agent or an employee of a funeral home. It should have a very simple form and laconic design with a minimal number of decorations. The briefcase should be chosen in accordance with the style of outerwear (coat or overcoat), but its choice is not connected with the shoes.
Watch
Classical business style implies wearing an elegant watch with hands, mechanical type, on a leather strap. Although quartz watches with hands are more practical and easier to handle, mechanical watches are considered more prestigious.
Also, a business watch should be flat, so it can be securely hidden under a shirt cuff. Any precious stones and massive overlays made of gold are unacceptable. An acceptable color for a business watch is metallic (gold or silver). They should be worn on a genuine leather strap, the color of which is successfully combined with the color of the wallet, but a thin metal bracelet is also acceptable. A chronometer is definitely not suitable for a business image, no matter how expensive it may be. After all, your business partners are counting on your usefulness in business, but do not expect you to know how to navigate in several time zones at once. Watches should have a simple design.
Gloves
This accessory has a particularly important practical function. Good men's gloves are made of fine leather, calfskin and are dark in color. The principle here is similar to that of selecting a briefcase; black is undesirable, but various shades of brown and gray are preferable. The main rule is that the color of the gloves should be in harmony with the shoes and the briefcase. Modern etiquette does not imply the compulsory wearing of gloves, and in winter they perform only a practical role.
Belt
Men's belts come in brown and black and should match the colour of the suit. Business belt should be smooth, not too wide, matte, have a small buckle that does not contain any company logo. The belt must not be too long and should not be too tight.
Umbrella
An umbrella for business style should be, firstly, dark, and secondly, long - so it should be a cane umbrella. It is this type of umbrella that can serve as a business accessory. It can have a black or dark gray color, the tip is a metal pin (allowing you to lean on while walking) and a leather-covered handle. The automatic folding umbrella performs a purely utilitarian function, fitting into a briefcase after performing its immediate task, that is, protecting its owner from rain.
Tie
This business accessory helps to express your individuality. Thanks to the tie a business suit is complete and creates a uniform image. It is important that the tie goes well with the shirt and the suit. For those who do not rely too much on personal preferences, the classic rules for choosing a tie will do - its color should be the same as the color of the stripes of the shirt.
